The Vivian Jung Mural

This mural was made to commemorate Vivian Jung, the first Chinese Canadian teacher in the Vancouver School Board and a key player in ending racial segregation in local swimming pools.

Janet and I had the pleasure of working with the students of Tecumseh to create monotype prints that are implemented throughout the mural. We created a hybrid of indoor and outdoor spaces that Vivian Jung dedicated her life to, demonstrating the massive scope and everlasting impact of Vivian’s legacy and hard work.

This mural can now be seen in Tecumseh Elementary School.
