Bitter Strength

bitter strength was an art book I made for as grad project in my final year at ECUAD. It was focussed on a number of notable Chinese people in the diaspora whose stories I found moving. People in this book include Faye Chiang, Tyrus Wong, Ah Toy, Joyce Chen, and Poy Gum Lee. I created a number of illustrations and wrote small paragraphs about each person. Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, my grad year was cut short and this book was unable to go to print, as I intended. Nonetheless, here are some of my favourite illustrations.
